Case maker Tactus posted the picture of what it says is the polycarbonate Housing from Apple’s upcoming budget smartphone. It also claims that the low-cost iPhone features a smaller 3.5-inch display, an Apple A5 processor and the same 5-megapixel camera as the iPhone 4. The information also claims the handset will hit the shelves in five colors: black, white, blue, red and yellow. The low-cost iPhone is expected to be released with the iPhone 5S in the late summer or early fall.

iPad 5 would announce by the end of March

Maybe you think it is the fake news, but indeed Apple is preparing to produce one of the next generation products iPad 5. According to the latest news from AppleInsider that the new generation iPad 5 will be “significantly lighter and slimmer” than previous iPad 4, the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the fifth-generation iPad which would be released in 2013 adopts the iPad mini’s thinner bezels, and the new device’s screen will reach 9.7 inches.

Kuo also claims that the consumers will have to wait until the third quarter to get a gander at the newest full-size iPad, where previous rumors had revealed that the new iPad would announce by the end of March.

iPhone 5S will come out in next summer with better camara, NFC and 8 Colors

Just few days ago, ETrade Supply got the leaked iPhone 5S rear housing in secret, but today we got this new report that the next generation iPhone 5S will be released in next summer with better camera, integrated NFC, and about 6 to 8 colors.

The report comes from Company analyst Peter Misek, who said that Apple will break free from the annual release schedule it has used it launched the first iPhone in 2007. To qualify the analyst’s prediction, Business Insider notes that Misek also said that Apple’s HDTV was in full production and would launch by the end of 2012.

iPhone 5s Rear Housing Leaked

Some former rumors on the internet said that Apple will release its 7th generation of iPhone in the first half of 2013. However, the latest news said that its released date will be some day next summer.
It is also said that the components suppliers of the new iPhone have already submitted samples to Apple and will trial-manufacture 50~100 K new iPhones.
When the media are still speculating the reliability of these rumors, a couple of rear housing pictures of suspected new iPhone were found in the web.

From the background, it seems that the pictures were taken at the assembly line of an operation stage. The photographer has showed the front and rear side of the housing, which looks very similar to the iPhone 5. However, the reason why we say it is a suspected iPhone 5s rear housing is that the specific information below the logo, which are replaced by “X”. Usually, the parts with “X” stand for test prototype.

Inside the rear housing, we can find some changes when comparing it with iPhone 5. First, the “iPhone 5s” has two less screw holes on the left side which are used to fasten the LCD. Second, the position of 3 screw holes used to fasten the logic board has been removed (not sure whether caused by the change of logic board).

12-18 Months Needed for Apple to Move Away from Samsung Processors

Though the result of the patent war Between Samsung and Apple is hard to be predicted, the cooperation between these two companies will still go on. It was estimated that Samsung will earn $13 billion in 2013 from Apple by supplying its needed parts. However, after the lawsuit between these two tech gaint, Apple has made up its mind to stay away from Samsung and let other suppliers to replace the position Samsung did in its supply chain. Apple is now relying on companies like LG Display, AU Optronics and others for many of its components. Recent reports have suggested that the Cupertino-based company will also be shifting its CPU business away from Samsung. Amit Daryanani of RBC Capital noted that such a move would require “a complete redo of production and manufacturing processes,” and could take a minimum of 12 to 18 months to complete.

“Shifting chip manufacturers isn’t easy and requires a complete redo of production and manufacturing process,” Daryanani wrote in a research note to clients on Friday. “Hence, these changes will take 12-18 months at minimum and won’t be commercially sold ’til 2014.”
If Apple goes through with this plan, the analyst believes the company only has four options to turn to — Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM), Intel (INTC), Global Foundries or Go Vertical. Earlier reports from Digitimes, along with reports from other analysts, have suggested Apple intends to move its processor business to TSMC. The move could cost TSMC between $1 billion and $3 billion, which Daryanani notes could give Apple the opportunity to co-invest in the company to help ease its capital expenditure.
The analyst notes that a move to Intel is seen as less likely due to Apple’s investment in the ARM architecture, making a transition to Intel chips more difficult. He notes that Intel is currently ahead of ARM in development by 1.5 generations, however, and is currently working on a 14-nanometer chip.
Another possibility could be using Global Foundries, a company that is already working with ARM to build a 20-nanometer chip based on ARM’s specific design. Apple may also be looking to “go vertical” and opt to build its own chip, although this is seen as unlikely because the company has “maintained an asset-light manufacturing model” throughout the years.

iPhone 5S’ Wireless Power

The latest news reveals that Apple is interested in the new patent for “realistic and practical approach” to wireless charging, so that offer wireless electricity to low-power iPhone within a distance of few meters. The new patent suggest that Apple is investigating the elegant solution of wireless power that use “near-field magnetic resonance” to recharge the iPhone’s low-power battery.
The article also said that one meter wide that can be used to provide electricity to devices simply by stepping within a certain radius of a power source. The patent calls the idea a “realistic and practical approach to wireless transferring.”
This week, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office make the filing public. This filing tells people that the new technology could already be in development and could make it into the next generation iPhone such as iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and etc. In order to protect its benefits of future iPhone, Apple just patent its new technology although they don’t know whether they can make it into the new iPhone 5S.

Apple and Samsung Are Fighting For the Patent Again

Both Apple and Samsung are continuing the patent battle in the courtroom with a second patent infringement lawsuit filed in August. This is a separate U.S. lawsuit from the $1 billion verdict that was awarded to Apple.

Due to the early stages of this lawsuit, both sides are trying to extend the scope of their case against the latest products from each company. Last week, Samsung sought to extend the infringement claims to include the iPad 4 and iPad mini. Days later, Apple also brought a motion to include several recent Samsung products, including the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wifi, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Rugby Pro and Samsung S III Mini.

Samsung had previously moved to add the iPhone 5 to the U.S. lawsuit shortly after its release. As noted by FOSS Patents, this latest Samsung/Apple lawsuit won't even go to trial until March 2014.

HTC And Apple Had Agreed To A Patent Dispute

ETrade Supply got the latest news that: HTC and Apple amazed the tech world last week when the two announced that they had agreed to a patent dispute and resolved all of their open disputes. The deal served as a hope for other Android vendors, and a sign that Apple’s “thermonuclear war” on Android might be not exist.

Subsequent estimates from Sterne Agee analyst Shaw Wu suggested HTC agreed to pay Apple between $6 and $8 per Android device shipped to license its various mobile patents for the next 10 years, however company CEO Peter Chou has objected Wu’s estimates, calling them “outrageous” according to Reuters. At $6 to $8 per device shipped, Apple would have pulled in as much as $280 million from the deal in 2013, as HTC is expected to ship as many as 35 million smartphones next year according to Sterne Agee’s estimates.
