HTC Releases the Desire X

Struggling smartphone vendor HTC on Thursday unveiled a new entry-level smartphone it hopes will resonate with buyers who by and large haven’t been sold on the company’s One-series Android handsets yet. While pricing hasn’t yet been announced, the HTC Desire X appears to be a budget-friendly smartphone with a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera with HTC’s fantastic ImageChip technology, Beats Audio and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich beneath HTC’s Sense UI and service layer. The Desire X will be released in select European and Asia Pacific markets beginning next month, and U.S. launch details were not announced.
